The PDC Embassy World Darts Champion of 1991, Dennis 'The Menace' Priestley was born and still lives in Mexborough.
Embassy World Champion 1991, Champion of Champions Challenge 1991, Gold Cup 91 and 92, Winmau World Masters, British Matchplay, British Open, Welsh Open, Canadian Open twice, World Pairs and lots more. World Grand Prix semi-finalists 1999, 2000.
One of the great darts players, Dennis became the first ever PDC Skol World Champion in 1994 beating Phil Taylor 6 sets to 1
His powers have waned of late but The Menace can still mix it with the best, although by his own admission he is finding it harder to take on the competition the older he gets.
Lost in the Final of the 2000 Skol World Championships to Phil Taylor. The model professional in all respects and determined to add another World Title to his impressive credentials.
